I am a chartered clinical psychologist working within the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire region. I have over ten years’ experience working within mental health, with nine years working as a Clinical Psychologist within the NHS.
Making the decision to enter into therapy is an important one and to ensure that therapy is successful it is vital that you find the therapist who is right for you. You must be confident and comfortable with the therapist, their experience and their clinical supervision. I work in a friendly, approachable and professional way; bringing a collaborative style, to work with you to understand the difficulties that you are experiencing and your goals for therapy. We can then agree the best pathway for you to achieve these. I am enthusiastic about working in psychological therapies and passionate about the benefits that it can bring to your life.
I have extensive training in a wide range of therapeutic styles, including CBT, EMDR and CAT (more information about these is contained in the links above). I have worked with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, eating disorders, trauma, loss/grief, relational problems, personality disorders, OCD and abuse related difficulties, including PTSD and Psychosis. I work with individuals, couples and groups.
Over the last few years I have been working with NHS staff and managers, along with other public and private organisations, to enable them to ensure that their workforce is healthy and therefore working to the best of their capacity. This has included providing organisational health-checks, working with individuals specifically around work-related stress, consulting with immediate line manager’s to support them supporting staff members and consulting with higher management to support strategic change to develop a healthy workplace.
Furthermore, I have a specialist interest in the link between the mind and body and the importance of supporting individuals to be healthy in all respects. We have teamed up with our sister organisation, Weight No More, to offer specialty input and support for people struggling with body image, losing weight and maintaining a healthy body.
I continue to ensure that I keep up to date with developments in this field, being an active member of my professional bodies associations and attending training. I have regular private supervision to ensure that I maintain the highest standards of best practice. I am a member of the Lincolnshire Psychology Network which ensures that I can remain connected to other local providers and can facilitate onward referrals if your needs are best met by them.
We work with a number of other professionals to deliver you the best possible range of care. These individuals also work to our high standards and therapeutic ethos.
